A growing number of hotels in Cebu City and Mandaue now welcome dogs, but no two hotels share the same rules. One caps dogs by height, another by weight, and each has its own list of documents, fees and off-limits areas. This guide covers what each hotel has posted on its own website, so a dog owner from Cebu, Davao, Iloilo or Metro Manila can plan a staycation without surprises at check-in.
Note: This post is accurate as of October 18, 2026. Hotel pet policies, fees and pet room availability can change at any time, so confirm with the hotel before booking. Fees below are shown “as posted” by each hotel.

Not Included in This Guide
Some well-known Cebu hotels and resorts are left out because a current, official pet policy could not be confirmed:
- Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort: its pet staycation offer ran until September 30, 2025, and the official offer page now returns “not found.”
- Shangri-La Mactan, Crimson Resort Mactan, Plantation Bay, Mövenpick Mactan and Quest Hotel: booking sites list these as not allowing pets, and none posts a pet program on its official pages.
- Asmara Urban Resort: booking sites say pets are allowed, but no official policy was found.
- Vacation rentals: pet rules depend on each host, so check the listing and message the host before booking.
How to Prepare a Dog for a Hotel Stay
- Get the paperwork in order. Bring the vaccination record, and ask a vet for a health certificate if the hotel needs one. Keep photos of both on a phone as a backup.
- Practice short absences at home. A dog that stays calm in a crate for a while is far easier in a hotel. Build it up with treats and a favorite toy.
- Pack familiar things. Food, bowls, a bed or blanket, toys, poop bags, pee pads or diapers, and a towel for wiping paws.
- Bring the dog’s crate if there is any chance of leaving it in the room, even briefly. Several hotels require one.
- Plan outdoor walks. Ask the front desk where the pet relief area is, and take a calm walk before check-in so the dog arrives relaxed.
- Do a test run. A first-timer does better after a short visit to a busy, dog-friendly place, such as a pet-friendly mall.
- Keep meals on schedule. Stick to the usual food and feeding times to avoid an upset stomach.
Hotel Etiquette With a Dog
- Leash the dog outside the room, including in hallways and elevators. Let other guests take the elevator first if they seem unsure.
- Keep the dog off beds and furniture unless the hotel allows it. Bring a blanket for the dog’s own spot.
- Respect off-limits areas such as restaurants, pools, gyms and spas.
- Clean up right away, indoors and out, and report any accidents to the front desk.
- Manage barking. Keep the dog busy with a chew or a toy, and don’t leave a dog that barks when alone.
- Arrange housekeeping at a time when the dog is out of the room or secured.
- Reward calm behavior with treats and praise. Calm dogs keep hotels open to dogs.
